Meltdown at SubZero by Joshua Bligh

Meltdown at Sub-Zero by Joshua Bligh (author of Cassadaga and The Interstate Generation) Being quite possibly the biggest 80's new-wave fan in the universe, naturally I was coming apart at the seams when I heard that Corvallis was getting a nightclub dedicated to my favorite decade. Clad in my Joy Division shirt and constantly checking my phone for eight to become nine, I did my best to avoid skipping down 4th street en route to Sub-Zero. 'I swear to God, I will leave this town if this place doesn't make it,' I informed the ›

Third Degree with former City Manager Jon Nelson

by Courtney Clenney If you could be any inanimate object, what would you be? Why? I think I’d be a mountain, that way you could have a good perspective on the world. What would your death row meal consist of? Oh, I’d have to go with steak and potatoes, asparagus. Have to have some toast, good salad. German Chocolate cake. I like my steak Medi ›

WHAT IT IS ABOUT CORVALLIS I've lived here for a year now and think I have finally figured out what it is about Corvallis. You can walk around with your heart chakra open and not get slammed. And you pass people on the sidewalk doing the same thing. I've lived in many places in this world and this is the only place I've seen where you can do it. I love this town. I ›

Punctual Rock Everyone has times when getting places exactly on time is just a nightmare. You hit every red light, traffic and arrive 10 minutes late, even though you left an hour early to drive 10 miles. Everyone makes mistakes. The human in us makes it impossible to be perfect all the time. Some hold everyone to an impossible standard of perfection in regard to punctual ›
